Of course, when Im harping on about why I prefer Mac’s to PC’s, the fact that my iMac G5 runs a lil slow and laggy after a while is probably due to the INSANE amount of downloading of podcasts, artwork and porn. I mean adult reference. End of the day, Macs are wonderful, but any computer is going to have problems. Macs just have less of them.
I’d do the Mac thing if I had the money, espically since now you can dual boot with Windows. Then I can do my WoW stuffs on the Mac stuff, and web stuff and all that and then I have all those NOT Mac games witht he Windows stuff. YAY HELLGATE LONDON! Meh. Linux IS NOT a desktop OS… YET… the closest thing IS MacOSX since it is a Linux base now. Oh! And uhm… nice web comic thing! hehehe

I can’t get Ubuntu to install on my computer since I rebuilt it from the ground up to be 64bit. Either I’m doing something wrong, or my BIOS need to be flashed… for the 6th time… I might just Borg the thing and make two computers outa it.
Work forced me to move from Unix to Windows a few years ago. Now I do most of my stuff under Windows and would need to find replacement for 90% of the applications I use daily since they are all Windows-only programs. I need to get my geek back and get a Linux PC going so I can at least have the options to be MS-less.
I always used to be dismissive of Macs, mainly because of the vast majority of the users tend to be loud and annoying and act as if using an overpriced computer and operating system makes them somehow superior to everyone else. Then I had to use Macs in school, at which point I began to at least tolerate OS X, to the point of preferring it over Windows. Then again, I’d prefer having my fingers cut off to having to use Windows; Linux has had my heart for a relatively long amount of my computer-dependent life.

i find the whole mac vs pc thing very amusing, why well about 2 and half years ago i lived at home me and my dad shared a pc. he was always going on as to how spywhare and viruses from my downloading made things slow and awful, and how the pc was such a piece of poop so i moved out and he got a mac laptop and when on and on as to how good it was. then about 8-10 months later i visited for x-mas and he is all going on as to how the mac is a piece of you know what also he has said that there is no way in hell you can do your own trouble shooting he has done many times by reading through the whole help manel on the pc and finding out what is wrong . i used it for a while over the holidays um the thing has no ram, it crashs from time to time just running some java online games i cant see why any one would want one
Why? Because PCs, to me, are more homey. I can customize the whole setup to match my specific needs. Macs, you gets what you get and you don’t make a fit.
Now here’s where the argument irks me. The Mac TV commercials, against Windows Vista. Uh, HELLO PEOPLE! Vista is an OPERATING SYSTEM, ***NOT*** a PC! A PC is ***HARDWARE***. Windows Vista is ***SOFTWARE***. They work together, BUT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. You CAN have OSX on a PC, and you CAN have XP on a Mac.
And yes, Adobe, Correl, Java, Flash, and all those other “creative” toosl work just as well- most of the time, better- on a PC.

(DOS: Dirty-Operating-System) all in all pc are great for all rounders but macs cannot be beaten in graphical power!!
i use a PC ^_^, true there are hell of alot of things to keep up with, but macs are to simple for me, there good, fast, and efficent but u cant repair or upgrade a mac unless its a mac pro, i like something u can tamper with ^_^ i like XP, Vista can go to hell, ive modified my pc so it looks like vista, but has all the speed and characteristics of XP, also ive modified my pc to boot up the original ps os, so i can play ps1 games on my pc ^_^, but i have a tendancy of pushin hardware over its limits >_<
I’m not too big on OSX, what with it being so locked down and all, but those Mac peebles do make some good hardware! I’m using one of their USB keyboards right now, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever had.

I can’t really offer an opinion in the Mac vs PC debate as the only Mac i’ve ever touched let alone used was an ancient Macintosh classic (so ancient that it had a monochrome screen) that belonged to my high school Physics teacher, he brought it new around 1990.
It is probably the second oldest computer that I have ever used, the oldest being the Magnum PC2 that was the famly computer until 2004 that was a IBM PC clone running DOS nothing on it was newer than 1985, that said apart from the hard drive everything still works.
