Any of you guys on Twitter? Cuz I am! If you’re interested in reading my tweets, you can find me at username Lizardbeth. I’m looking to do some exclusive announcements, contests, and other things through twitter, but it wouldn’t do any good if no one’s there to listen. So if you’ve caught the twitter bug, pop me a watch!
Also, I’ve got a small question for everyone. Well, kind of a survey. I designed this site with a brick-textured background, but I’ve noticed it doesn’t show up on some computers. So if you guys want to help me out, post a comment here answering the following 2 questions:
1) What browser do you use, and what version? (For instance, I use Firefox 3.0)
2) Can you see the red/brown brick background, or do you only see flat white and gray?
I’m hoping to do some tweaking to the code in the next week or so to fix that AND my title bar, and knowing what browsers are having trouble helps out with that.
EDIT: OK, I think I fixed the major stuff! Lemme know if anything else on the site appears broken. OH, and the brick isn’t supposed to be BRIGHT red, just brick-stone-clay-brownish red.
And now, your moment of Zen.

Using Firefox on a Mac, can see the brick pattern but only down the sides, with a white background for the main. Probably a good thing too, or I wouldn’t be able to read much of your blog with a brick background on it.
P.S. Love your comic it is coolness.
–Fox.
Thisfox: good, that’s how it’s supposed to look
Opera 9.50, Safari (windows version) and my own creation (DeadBrowser v0.000001[not available outside the Den]) and I see bricks in all of them. What I DON’T see however, is the banner, the link to Lizardbeth.net or the etsy.com link when I’m trying to post a comment. Everything else appeares however.
Great comic i’ve been a fan since i saw the link on Jay Naylor’s site.
I use firefox 3 (i just updated) and i can see the bricks just fine but when i want to post a comment then Lizardbeth.com and the title bar disappear.
Keep up the good work
I use Firefox 3.0 (Why anyone would want to use anything else is beyond me ^.-)
I can see the brick background just fine.
As for the comic all I have to say is woot!
I remember seeing your old site a while back and then i lost is and here you are back again with a comic that has BOTH pirates AND ninjas, Very good call ^.^
Take care and have fun.
Firefox 3.0 on a PC, I see the bricks just fine.
Awesome video by the way, what a great way to relieve stress in the workplace XP
Hey, I’m using Internet Explorer (no idea what version though) but the brick texture isn’t showing up. :/
Though it dosen’t hinder my comic enjoyment
Well under Safari 3.1.2 (Mac OS X 10.5) everything shows up great, same on my iPhone 3G. The only problem that I can find is that once you go into the comments of the blog the top logo and your LizardBeth.Net pic aren’t visible. It seems there’s a broken link to the image.
I checked the full link to both images and the site is looking for them at the following address: http://www.brokenplotdevice.com/2008/07/28/twitter-etc/ . My best guess is that the address changes from blog post to blog post, instead of using your base directory for the images in your lizardbeth.net domain. Try seeing if you can modify the code in your site to keep the address of those images stable.
Ah, same problem with the wrong directory and site for your etsyBuyOriginals.gif image on the blog comments part of the site.
Everything’s rendering perfectly on Firefox 3.0.1!
I use Explorer 6.0.2800.1106 running in Windows 98 Second Edition v 4.10.2222 A. I see no bricks. Also, whatever picture should show above Home|About|Subscribe just shows as a red x in a box. The same with whatever should be on the left between the Conventions ticket and the mailbox and whatever should be on the right between the Archives… drop-down box and the PayPal Donation image. Both red x’s in boxes.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080702 Firefox/2.0.0.16
This yoinked from the about. And yes, can see it, crystal clear, along with the rest of the things lurking about here.
Hmm, I figured you just didn’t code the header image into the header. Firefox doesn’t show a broken image box, but instead acts like there’s no header image at all. You should put in the full address in the img tag so it shows up throughout the whole site.
I notice your css has two background images listed in the body section, and one of them is commented out like it was html. Trouble is, it’s not html, it’s css. I recommend either taking out that second background command, or commenting it out like this:
/* background: #555 url(’background.png’) center top repeat-y; */
Notice the space between the slash-star and the code.
Oh drat, that ghost is back in my house…
*waka waka waka waka…*
Firefox 3.0, Windows XP, and I can see the bricks with the white background in the middle but the bricks are various shades of brown and gray… no red. *shrug*
And yay for twitter
All seems to work now! YAY! Happy funny commic goodness and working bits and pieces… Yeah… I’m a little hyper or somethin.
LOLLOL great vid i laughed so hard i was in tears LOLOL
