I loves me some video games, and I cannot deny it. It’s been a while since a game came out that I got really excited over, but right now I have 5 games that (a) I’m giddy with anticipation over, and (b) I can actually PLAY! My options are rather limited, since my desktop is a G5 Mac. Anywho, here’s my top 5 games I am excited beyond belief for.
5) Fables 2 – I will admit to never playing through the first game – I got 3 hours playtime in on it – but I loved the premise of it, and from everything I’m hearing about the second it’s even MORE open-ended so you can do so much more with your character. I’m pretty sure they’re making a Mac version since they have one for the first, though I don’t know if it’ll be available on release.
4) Diablo 3 – I played through Diablo 1 and am replaying Diablo 2 now (act 3, woot woot), and while I wasn’t in love with them at the time, I AM excited over the new one. They have a 15 minute gameplay demo trailer on their website (www.diablo3.com) that not only addresses one of my main concerns with the two-button limited controls, but the graphics look AMAZING!! As long as they can keep the bots & hackers out of B*Net play, I’ll be a happy demon-slaying little girl.
3) Wrath of the Lich King (WoW Expansion) – The only reason this isn’t #1 is because I canceled my account back in April (3 months clean, woot woot) and I’m afraid to hook back into it. I loved WoW, and I am VERY much looking forward to this expansion while at the same time being deathly afraid of it. I’ll even buy the collector’s edition like I did with Burning Crusade; though, in my defense, I did that for the art book inside. Mmmm, Blizzard art….
2) Spore – I am going to have the most adorable planet ever. ‘nuf said.
1) Starcraft 2 – Another Blizzard game? Well, besides Blizzard being the best company out there for always porting games to Mac at release, they just make good games. Starcraft was my absolute favorite PC game back in the day. I used to (pretend to) wreck house in B*Net till all hours of the morning. The new graphical updates look amazing and the new units are pretty cool. I can’t wait to ride into battle with my Protoss army and slaughter filthy Zerg and squishy Terrans in the memory of Aiur.
Yeah, I’m a nerd. I can’t help it.
I know I’ve got some gamers out there! What are you guys looking forward to playing? E3 just ended so I know there’s got to be new gems you’re keeping your eyes out for.
