Triple update today to make up for the lull in blog posts. First up, a photo dump from Baltimore Comic Con last weekend!

Here’s me at the start of Saturday at my booth. That snazzy new banner behind me was apparently SO snazzy it broke the brand new banner stand I had brought with me; thankfully some very generous neighbors let me borrow some of their stacker cubes to create a makeshift – and IMO a much better – stand.
Business admittedly was a bit slow over the weekend, though I did have a bunch of visitors come by and check out the comic, or even just to chat for a while. It was awesome going to a con I’ve never sold at before and meeting people who recognized my work. So cool! The next coolest part after that was the fact that my table was at the end of a row facing the panel rooms, which on Sunday held the costume contest!

I even got this sweet one of me with Powered Toast Man!

After the con, I drove back to Philly and saw DragonForce. This was my second time seeing them in concert, and the show was actually their last one for this tour so they were going a bit nuts. ;D The next morning, I open my inbox to this message from FA user GizaGiza:
Hello!
So this past Saturday, I was able Dragonforce for the second time live when they came to my city, Montreal. I was lucky enough to somehow end up on the guest list and get into the show for free – and get backstage access as well. After the show, I found myself chilling & drinking with the band members! I was with a friend (whom got me on the guest list in the first place), and we were taking pictures as well. I leant over at one point to get something out of my bag – then it struck me! I have some Lizardbeth crafted pins on my bag that I got for free when I ordered Nuclear Hoodie! and Lizardbeth is also a fan of Dragonforce, it seems! Would she find it amusing if I got a picture of the lead singer with her pin?
Only one way to find out! Here you go:
And yes, I swear to you, that really is ZP Theart, the lead singer of Dragonforce. He’s disguised so he could come out to the bar afterwards – we kept teasing him that he looked like a rapper.
Anyway, I don’t know if you’d get a kick out of that or not, but I figured why not! =)
Best of luck at the Comic-con!

I almost fell out of my chair! Seriously, wtf? That’s rediculously awesome, and oh my GOD thank you Gizagiza for that!! Now I gotta wear that button the next time they come to Philly and see if they remember it, haha!
Last bit of awesome to share with you was made for me by my old college friend Chris (aka FlakInTheBox in my Ustreams and on Twitter). I was walking in a Ustream chat a while back about things I’d like to make into products one day, one of which was a small clear bouncy ball with rex inside. Well, being the amazing sculptor that he is, Chris whipped this little guy up and send it to me not long after.

He’s casted in plastic and hand-panted, and measures barely one and a half inches tall. He’s so adorable! I’m not sure if I’ll go the bouncy ball route or do something else with him, but he came out amazing and I would love to do something with him that I can share with you guys.
If you want to see more of Chris’s work, go to FlakInTheBox.com.

Yay rex! Now we just need him to have the same personality
Your hand is not low enough to be touching his buttocks. What is wrong with you?! That’s Powdered Toast Man!
I actually stopped by your booth on Sunday before I went to the Costume Contest (I was dressed as Jason Voorhees). I didn’t buy your book (though now I wish I had), but I did get your card and checked out the webcomic when I got home. I have to say I absolutely love it. I actually read it all the way through and it has become one of my regulars. I even sent the link to a few of the strips to a friend up in Canada and he loves it, too. Just because the weekend might have been slow for you, don’t think it wasn’t productive
.
Looks like you had a wonderful time this weekend! Too bad the con wasn’t busier, I suppose, but cool that the dude from the band wore your pin and that somebody made the RoboRex figurine.
How Cool is That. Having a Personal Picture, of a Famous Band Member, Holding (eating?) Your Merchandise. That Must’uv Been A Crazy moment.
That’s ZP Theart? i would not have recognised him if you didnt say so o.O also I am sure fate wants to know im not worthy of a Nerf Longshot – even Dr. Horrible has one disguised as a freezeray! D:
super banner, good going
I am MADLY jealous of you right now. Dragonforce not only in concert, not only backstage, but with ZP holding your PIN IN HIS MOUTH?!
The only thing that could make my envy levels spike higher would be if someone came up with a mini-fig of Rex purely out of the kindness of their fannish…*looks again* AW MAAAAANNNN…
That banner is incredibly kickass.
why didn’t max dress up? X3
That is very cool… one of the photos you took (steampunk couple) are a couple of friends of mine! They just got married about a month ago.
ZP is one hell of a cool guy, got a chance to meet ‘em both times I saw DF live. Hell, the whole band is cool.
