Semi-Vacation & “BPD Kids” Interlude

With one of my biggest cons of the year coming up this weekend (Anthrocon! Pittsburgh!! COME SEE ME!!!) I’ve been running around like a crazy person trying to get everything ready.  In an attempt to go less crazy, I decided to take a short 2-week semi-break from BPD.  However, rather than not update at all, I decided to do simple one-panel comics, to at least give you guys something to check out over the next 2 weeks.   So with that said, I hope you guys enjoy the little peak into the main cast* in their younger, more innocent years!  :D

*Spoilers: Inix will not be included.  Sorry guys!  Maybe someday…

Spotted: Papercraft Rex!

Mike Meurs sent in these cute photos of a couple papercraft Rexes he put together. The smaller one was printed on a 4×6 index card; the speaker they’re standing on is 4″, so that’ll give you a sense of scale.  So adorable!

BPD 2.0: Now in Grayscale!

I’m sure you guys noticed today’s comic is a LITTLE different than usual. I’ve wanted to make this change for a while, but I figured the best way to do it was to wait until a break between books. Now, I’m super excited to share with you the NEW look of Broken Plot Device. From now on, I’ll be doing the comic in grayscale instead of just flat black and white. The exact look & style may evolve and chance in time as I get used to doing the comic this way and experiment with new techniques I wasn’t able to use before. I hope you guys like where I take the art style, and look forward to drawing more comics in this style for the foreseeable future. ^_^
