Where DID the “Attack Fetus” come from?

Sometimes I get asked “Where the heck did the Attack Fetus come from?”, aka the “Fi’Tsu Goblin” in the comic. I just found this picture I drew in college in 2003, which may shed some light on the subject. Of note is that it was drawn at 2am when I was loony from sleep deprivation and hunger. That’s my excuse.
