Nuclear Hoodie update and MORE!

By Liz on June 8th, 2009

Hey guys! I wanted to give you all an update on the status of the Nuclear Hoodie books, as I know many of you have been dying to get ‘em in your hands. I received my test copy from my printer at Lulu, and it turned out great!

The cover has a really nice, super glossy finish to it. It’s thicker than I guessed it would be too, which is pretty awesome. I’ve been worried sick for the last week that the colors for the cover would turn out wonky (since screen colors don’t always match print colors), but it turned out perfect.

The inside looks nice too. The lines came out nice and crisp where I needed them, and nothing’s unclear or illegible. If anything, you can see each comic FAR clearer in the book than online!

After going over the preview book a few times, I finally put in the big order of 250 books, many of which already have expecting homes. Between printing, processing, and shipping, I’m expecting to have the books in my hands sometime between the 16th and the 22nd.

So what does this mean for those of you who ordered books? If you ordered the regular $15 edition, I will be sending your books out as soon as I receive them. If you ordered an Artist Edition, I MAY be able to send some of those out right away as well, but since drawing in them takes time, AND I will be attending Anthrocon the first weekend of July, many of them will probably not be sent out until I return. So if you ordered an Artist Edition, at the latest your books will be in the mail by early-mid July.

OH! And speaking of Anthrocon, if you will be attending the convention and would like to pick your preordered book up from me, you MUST let me know ahead of time. This is especially important if you ordered an Artist Edition!

And of course, I will have plenty of books on hand at the convention for those of you who didn’t order one online. I will probably not be doing Artist Editions at the con though due to time constraints though, so plan ahead.

Last, but not least, I received some pretty awesome fan art from Steven D in celebration of the 1 year anniversary of BPD, that I just had to share with all of you.

Thank you so much! You just bought everybody another year of comic weirdness. ;)

Fan Feature!!

By Liz on January 19th, 2009

I got a new piece of fan art recently, this one from Steven D of almost* everyone’s favorite self-proclaimed pirate, Sid!   He looks pretty convincing here as a bonafide swashbuckler, don’t you think?

Thanks SD!!  :D

* I hear Ninjas and wolves named Sylver aren’t too much of a fan of his, but who’s counting them anyway?  ;)

Two awesome Fan Submissions in 1 week?!

By Liz on January 12th, 2009

Earlier last week, I received this really nice rendition of Lizardbeth from George Encinosa, looking all shy and cute!

Also check out this super nice job Furrine did coloring the first BPD comic strip!

Thank you SO much, George and Furrine!  I can’t tell you how much your generous gifts mean to me. You guys both ROCK!!  ^_^

If anybody else ever feels creatively inclined and wants to recreate any BPD characters, send them my way at LizardbethArt@gmail.com, and I’ll feature your awesomeness in the blog!
